Philippines AirAsia is a subsidiary of prolific umbrella organization – The AirAsia Group that has many offshoots in the Asia Pacific. The airline received its Air Operator Certificate from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines on February 7, 2012. It is jointly owned by AirAsia Berhad that owns a 40% stake in the airline, and the remaining 60% ownership is shared between 3 Filipino investors.
